Q&A

Do you make all your own products?

Yes. All my products are handmade locally in  Kitimat, British Columbia. Handcrafted in small batches ensuring the quality, love and care goes into each every product I make. I make my own cold process soap, solid dish soaps, bath bombs, shower steamers, solid bubble bath, lip balms, body buttercreams, magnesium lotions, washcloths etc. right down to making the labels myself.  It takes many late nights of research, test batches and a whole lot of testing thanks to my family and friends who allow me to use them for testing, I keep learning through trial and error.

Why do you use fragrance oils opposed to essential oils ?
I often get asked why I choose fragrance oils over essential oils so without sugar coating anything I will break it down for you here and on my social media as I tend to get tongue tied when I'm trying to explain things in person.

1.Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts. While natural, they can sometimes be irritating, sensitizing, or even phototoxic (like certain citrus oils) when used on the skin. Fragrance oils are lab formulated to be skin-safe at the recommended usage levels and undergo specific testing for cosmetic use. This is why I always follow IFRA guidelines and submit CNF forms to health Canada, even with fragrance oils it takes me a lot of time and research and testing to make sure my products are up to my standards and safe

2. Consistency & stability
Essential oils can vary in scent depending on the harvest, climate, or batch, which makes it hard to ensure a consistent product fragrance. Fragrance oils, on the other hand, are designed to remain stable and smell the same in every batch, so my customers get a reliable experience.

3. Broader Scent Options
Essential oils are limited to what nature provides (lavender, peppermint, lemon, etc.). Fragrance oils allow for more variety—such as gourmand scents (vanilla cake, cotton candy) or blends that don’t exist in nature—while still being safe for use in bath and body products

4. Cost & Sustainability
Some essential oils require enormous amounts of plant material to produce (for example, it takes thousands of roses to make a small bottle of rose oil). This can make them unsustainably expensive and environmentally taxing. Fragrance oils can provide similar or unique scents without that impact.

5. Performance in Formulas
Fragrance oils are engineered to perform well in specific cosmetic bases (soap, lotion, bath bombs), so the scent tends to last longer and hold up better compared to some essential oils, which can fade quickly or react with other ingredients.
I love essential oils and use them where they make sense for example my shower steamers, and solid dishsoap ,,but in bath and body products I often choose fragrance oils because they’re specifically designed to be skin-safe, consistent, and stable. with that being said yes I do make a few soaps with essential oils , these oils  are sourced through a reputable supplier and they have the safe usage rates so I know I'm not risking anyone's health or safety. They also give me a wider range of scents to offer you, without the risk of irritation or the environmental cost of some essential oils

I always follow IFRA guidelines and submit CNF forms to health Canada, with both fragrance oils and essential oils it takes me a lot of time and research and testing to make sure my products are up to my standards and safe for you because at the end of the day, my goal is simple: to create products that smell amazing, feel safe, and bring a little extra comfort into your everyday living
